How to Help
A lethal tornado tore through the Midwest Friday night, May 4, 2007 and left a trail of debris over 22 miles long and a mile and a half wide. This F-5 class tornado touched down more than 75 times, took ten lives, and leveled the town of Greensburg, Kansas. Hundreds of residents of southwestern Kansas were left without their homes and businesses as a tornado with winds up to 205 mph came storming through. Brick and concrete buildings turned to piles of rubble, semi-trailers and cars rolled on their sides and neighborhoods were left unrecognizable by the terrible storm.
