Greensburg Community Self-Help Housing Program Information

Mennonite Housing and USDA have begun to assemble a group of 10 Greensburg families to begin construction on their homes in April 2008. We anticipate subsequent groups to follow.

How does the program work?

Participants work together with volunteers to build each other's homes. Participants will obtain a USDA rural development loan, and several grants are available to help reduce your house payment. You select your house plan from several available energy efficient homes.

Homes to be built will be 900-1100 square feet, with 2 car garage, full basement with safe room, green building techniques, and energy star appliances.

To qualify you must meet income eligibility, have an acceptable credit history, and acceptable employment.
